Water 2015
The Small Aqueduct-Electric Pump Water Project in Salales, Nicaragua was the result of the coordination of Rotary Farmington-Avon, Rotary International, Rotary Club Esteli (Nicaragua), Enlace Project, two mayor’s offices and the community of Salales. Their effort resulted in a new water distribution for the town which connected 150+ houses to access to potable water, the first for the new town.
As the interim director of Enlace, I was the lead manager for the project and my responsibility was to coordinate the efforts between all the different stakeholders so that the project could meet its deadline. It was, at times, a difficult project with various unforeseen obstacles that, in the end, were all successfully overcome. Now more than 2000 people have access to clean water without the need to transport it, sometime several miles, to the homes where it is consumed.
