Making the Leap...And introducing the idea of this whole thing

Writer's picture: Conrad WrightConrad Wright

I have decided to make the leap! A leap toward fulfilling my true potential truly. What I am leaping towards is becoming a social entrepreneur because I know that is my gift to give to the world. But I feel like I am trying to make that leap with both of my feet firmly planted in some thick mud. And it wasn’t an easy journey getting stuck in the mud in the first place.

“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”

–William Shakespeare

That was a quote I came across recently and it was one of those quotes that strikes your heart strings, a quote that when you read it clicks with that innate wisdom that lies half asleep in us and makes us say “yes, that’s it!”

However, if, like the quote states, the meaning of our lives is to find our gift, then I know how difficult that can be. I have lived to know both the ecstasy of the height of such beautiful human experiences and the cold depth of the dark hardness of rock bottom. But through all the shit and muck and churning of life’s wheels, I have come to know what it is that I can do to make the world a better place. I have found my gift.

And I hope that in sharing my experience, my stories, my struggles and successes in my young life that I can help some of you have a better time finding and understanding what it is you can do. I want to be able to share some of the insights I have gained through some of life’s toughest moments that helped me realize what my gift is, so that you don’t have to spend so much time learning the same lessons in the same difficult way.

So, hence this blog. My first few posts were a bit random but now it will have structure and purpose. And even though this blog is about what I have learned, at the end of the day, it is really about you. It’s about making you successful, about making you wiser and more aware, about helping you understand life so you have an easier time reaching your potential. And I want to do that because I truly believe a world filled with people doing what they love and loving who they are is a better world for all of life on this planet. We are millennials! We are the future! And we, as it has been said many times, are the ones we have been waiting for!

So, please, follow me here, respond to what I write, think about it, let me know how it can be made more useful. And in doing so, let us build a community of truly true beings, of change-makers and shape-shifters, of doers, of go-getters, and dreamers, of people finding their gifts and giving them away. Let us be more fully human for a world that needs it, for a better tomorrow.
